Torrential rainfall has had a major impact on the UK’s many TGA members.

The TGA has received reports from its members of flooded fields,  waterlogged turf, and difficulties in meeting consumer demand, with heights of cut and harvest operations proving very difficult to sustain.

Maintaining quality turf has never been more difficult with day to day activities proving to be a real challenge, and in many cases impossible.

The knock on effect of this remains to be seen, however much remedial work is likely to be required in the Spring adding significant time and cost to the already tight margins.

With further rainfall, and only slowly receding water levels, harvest and mowing operations continue to be a challenge, with ground preparations and further Autumn sowings by TGA members being severely disrupted.
