12 March 2013, TGA has a spring in its step as more companies sign up for 2013 Turf Show

Momentum is building for the Turfgrass Growers Association’s 2013 Turf Show, as more companies sign up to exhibit at the event on 9th July.

Members gathered at the host venue, Fineturf, near Grantham, on 6th March for the association’s spring members meeting.

Twice a year, TGA members get the opportunity to hear presentations from experts from the turf industry, other industries, and all aspects of business management.

James Szabo was first to take the floor to discuss the benefits that precision farming can bring to turf producers. The focus then switched to employment law, corporate responsibility and health and safety as business risk consultant Andy McLachlan from Stallard Kane Associates gave examples of how business can ‘run a tighter ship’ in 2013.

Mark Hunt from Headland Amenity then delivered a fascinating insight into our changing weather and its effect on turf management. Finally, Iain Macpherson from Rain Bird examined the impact of rising energy costs on businesses, before explaining the benefits of renewable energy sources.

Fineturf’s Simon Hutton then led everyone to the site where this year’s show will take place. The latest companies to sign up to exhibit include Wessex Machinery, who will be exhibiting for the first time, and Trimax Mowing Systems.

The TGA is also delighted to confirm that Horticulture Week is the show’s media sponsor, having sponsored the 2011 show at J&B Farnaby.

The TGA Turf Show 2013 will be held on Tuesday 9th July. More information can be found at
